Is there a dress code?

Montreal is quite a fashion conscious city. As a rule you can never be too dressed up to go out. Montrealers always try to look their best. However, guys, this does not mean that you are expected to wear a suit. Most clubs have a dress code that applies mostly to men. In that, you cannot wear sneakers, ripped jeans, hats, short, or sandals. Standard attire is usually a collared shirt with some fashionable jeans or pants with dress shoes. For women, dressier rather than not is standard.
